Real Estate Market in Mississauga

Reasons to consider Mississauga Real Estate for Sale.

There is no single reason why over 700,000 people have chosen Mississauga Real Estate for Sale. Rather, the city of Mississauga appeals to a wide range of people, from brand-new Canadians to retirees because it has something for everyone. The city’s proximity to Toronto and excellent transportation access has made it popular with businesses while the availability of jobs at these businesses has attracted job seekers. Mississauga also represents more affordable real estate to Toronto families looking for a bigger home. This widespread popularity means Mississauga does extremely well for itself. In fact, the city has been debt free since 1978, a fact which the community is extremely proud of. Residents have been seeking to separate themselves in the collective consciousness from larger Toronto, and have been working together on projects like the Absolute World architecture competition and the My Mississauga community festival to achieve this goal.

Despite the residents desires to distance themselves from Toronto, the fact remains that a large percentage of them commute there on a daily basis for work. Many do so by car via one of several routes into the city. The 401 connects both cities’ north ends while the 403 passes through the city center and highway 407 is just a short hop from the city limits. Highway 410 goes the other way, outward into Brampton, and the 409 is the main route to Pearson International Airport, which is located in Mississauga. Mississauga Transit buses connect carless commuters with the Toronto Transit Commission’s subway route and VIA rail’s GO Train service.

While their parents find their various ways into Toronto during the day, Mississauga’s children congregate to learn at more than 150 grade schools in the city. Most take the standard public secular classes but others are educated in French or according to the Catholic faith, which are the city’s two largest special programs. Other special grade school programs include enhanced or International Baccalaureate learning, regional arts, international business, and science and technology. Graduating from one of these programs puts students in excellent stead for acceptance into post-secondary programs at the new Sheridan College campus and the University of Toronto at Mississauga.

It’s inevitable that during your lifetime you’ll need to see a doctor and when it happens, Mississauga’s public health doctors will be ready to help you. There are dozens of family practices and clinics to help you through the little illnesses. When things become more serious, the doctors and nurses of Trillium Health Center and the Credit Valley Hospital will step up to take care of you. Both hospitals have 24 hour emergency departments. Credit Valley has a brand-new cancer care wing and special departments to deal with genetics and continuing care while Trillium is the home of the regional stroke center and the regional neurosurgery center.
